For over 30 years, Alternative Living for the Aging (ALA) has been helping people of all ages find safe, affordable housing alternatives.
ALA operates several affordable Cooperative Apartment Communities where low-income older adults form a new extended family and help one another with the tasks of daily living — remaining independent through their interdependence. ALA manages an open wait list for each of our five Cooperative Apartment Communities. Monthly rent varies at each property and ranges from $495-705.
ALA also provides a free Roommate Matching Service to the public — facilitating matching seniors with other seniors, mid-age, and younger people 18+ so that they may have affordable housing, companionship, a sense of safety, and the ability to make ends meet.
